"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love," (1 John 4:7-8).
To say that I am made in the image of God is to say that love is the reason for my existence, for God is love.
Love is my true identity.
Selflessness is my true self.
Love is my true character.
Love is my name.

How is love defining who you are and how you live?
Hard to define. I think God knows the love that resides within, but I'm beginning to see the importance of outward demonstration, particularly in a society that seems increasingly self absorbed.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately, I'm no exception. I've fallen into the trap of self reliance, yet I'm finding great value in relationships among believers. I remain a work in progress, yet, I feel a responsibility to help others find their way, maybe by example. Why? When I look around, I see others who are struggling the very same way that I've struggled. It's not about me.
