My church has a steeple with a cross on it. As I was walking in today, I noticed a bird sitting on the cross. The day was gloomy. Something about the bird resting on the cross in the midst of a gloomy day touched my heart. It was a reminder that we can lean on Jesus every moment of every day. He is our strength in times of weakness and our refuge in times of need. He is our rest when we are weary and our foundation for life. No matter what kind of day you are having, make sure you are firmly leaning upon Jesus to be your source, supply, and saving power!
Psalm 55:2 "Cast your burden upon the LORD and He will sustain you; He will never allow the righteous to be shaken."
Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the LORD your God, who upholds your right hand, Who says to you, 'Do not fear, I will help you.'"
Luke 12:22-25 "Then Jesus said to his disciples: 'Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothes. Consider the ravens: They do not sow or reap, they have no storeroom or barn; yet God feeds them. And how much more valuable you are than birds! Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?'"
