ENCOURAGING: Goodbook 07-28-15

I recently asked our Goodbook community what encouraging verse you like to read when you are feeling down or discouraged.  Here are some of your responses...

Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Jonah 2:4 "I said, 'I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.'"

Psalm 118:24 "The LORD has done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad."

Jeremiah 29:11 "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'"

Psalm 56:3-4 "When I am afraid, I put my trust in you."

Psalm 121:1-8 "My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth. He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over you will not slumber."

Romans 12:12 "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer."

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

Romans 5:3-5 "Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.”
