"When I consider your heavens, the work of your
fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind
that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?" (Psalm
8:3-4).
On the weather report this morning, the reporter showed a picture of a solar flare from the sun. Next to the solar flare, they showed a picture of the earth. The earth was just a tiny dot next to this massive solar flare. It made me feel pretty small. Yet, as small as we are, the God who made the sun is mindful of us. God thinks about you and me and cares about us. In a vast universe we have incredible significance because the maker of it all is mindful about us.
Think about that word: mindful. Mind FULL. God's mind is full of thoughts about us. God's mind is full of love and concern for us. God's mind is full of thoughts about what our God-given potential can be in this world. David went on to write: "You
have made (people) a little lower than the angels and crowned them
with glory and honor. You made them rulers
over the works of your hands; you put
everything under their feet," (Psalm 8:5-6).
God's mind is full of thoughts about us! So what is your mind full of? Is your mind full of thoughts about God? Do you go through your day thinking about God - what God has done, what God is doing, what God might like you to do, what would please God, where God is calling you, who God is calling you to reach, how God is calling you to grow, what God is calling you to give, etc.?
Are those the kind of thoughts your mind is full of? If so, praise God! You are bringing God great glory and I'll bet you are experiencing God's grace, blessing, guidance, power, and impact more than most of the human race. If these are not the thoughts your mind is full of, then let's start filling them with new thoughts - with God thoughts. Think about God, talk with God, read about God, talk with others about God, make every event and situation an opportunity to be mindul of God.
Try this for today...
1) Think about God a LOT today
2) Fill your mind with thoughts about God, because God is mindful of you
