Did you know that the average adult makes between 5,000 to 35,000 decisions every day? That is a lot of decisions. And that is a lot of opportunities for us to either make good choices or not-so-good choices. While I was reading through Paul's first letter to the church in Corinth, I ran across some questions that can help us evaluated the choices we make. The next time you are faced with a decision, try filtering your choices through the following questions. I created a picture that we can keep with us as a memory aid.
- Is it beneficial? Is this a good choice for me?
- Is it constructive? Will this choice serve a useful purpose and help to build up?
- Am I being mastered? Am I being compelled or controlled to make this choice by a negative influence from others or from within?
- Does this choice glorify God?
- Is this choice good for others?
- Will this choice cause someone else to stumble?
- Will this choice help someone be saved by Jesus?
