SURRENDER: Goodbook 07-14-16

I had a lot of people ask for the list of Scriptures I shared at the end of my CHRISTMAS IN JULY sermon last week. Here is an excerpt from the sermon with the Scripture references. I pray it encourages you to surrender everything to the Lordship of Jesus.

• When we surrender our sin to Jesus, he is able to forgive us, cleanse us, and bring us back into peace with God and others (1 John 1:7-9).
• When we surrender our bitterness to Jesus, he is able to help us forgive and set us free from the lethal grip of resentment (Ephesians 4:31-32).  
• When we surrender our worries to Jesus, he is able to guard our hearts and minds with his peace (Philippians 4:7). 
• When we surrender our grief to Jesus, he is able to comfort us in all our troubles (2 Cor 1:4). 
• When we surrender our circumstances to Jesus, he is able to work all things together for good (Romans 8:28). 
• When we surrender our plans and timing to Jesus, he is able to make everything beautiful in its time (Ecclesiastes 3:11). 
• When we surrender our actions to the leading of God’s Word, Jesus is able to keep us from stumbling and lead us in the way of true life and peace (Psalm 119:65). 
• When we surrender our finances to Jesus, he is able to bless us with more than enough and make us a blessing (2 Corinthians 9:8). 
• When we surrender our lives to Jesus’ purposes, we find that he works through us to be peacemakers in the world (Matthew 5:9).
