THANK GOD: Goodbook 11-19-12

I promised I'd never ask you to do something I'm not willing to do.  Last week I challenged everyone to praise God every day and give thank offerings every day.  I wanted to share stories about what we did.  Please share your stories about what you did!

Challenge 1: Praise God every day!

Julie had the great idea of making a tree.  We created a tree with no leaves and then cut out a bunch of leaves.  Every day we wrote down things we were thankful for on the leaves.  Then, we put the leaves on the tree.  By the end of the week, we had a tree full of leaves.  It was a really fun way to remember our blessings and praise God.

Challenge 2: Give a thank offering every day!

We took this opportunity to...

-Support some missionaries who are doing great work for God
-Support the ELCA Disaster Response Team helping on the East Coast
-Give a special thanksgiving offering to the church
-Sign up for a day to help with Feed My Starving Children
-Give a special birthday treat
-Help some family members in need

God has given us so much!  I'd love to hear how you are praising God and giving thank offerings...

"I will sacrifice a thank offering to you and call on the name of the Lord.  I will fullfill my vow (to praise) the Lord in the presence of all his people," (Psalm 116:17-18).
