PUT ON: Goodbook 12-14-12

Wow, it was cool to see so many people get excited about doing 12 acts of kindness on 12-12-12!  People shared the post, reposted, told other people at their work, and on and on.  Excitement was a buzzing.

Ever wonder why doing something kind for others (expecting nothing in return) would get people so excited.  It logically does not make sense ... unless you realize that we were created in the image of an extravagantly generous and loving God.  We were created for kindness.  Unfortunately, we let so many other things distract us from it.  But when we are reminded, when we have the opportunity, something ignites inside us like a spark waiting to be lit.

I'm so proud of everyone who joined in the challenge and I have loved to hear your stories.  How about we keep them coming?!?  Why stop now?

What if we thought about putting on kindness every day like we thought about putting on our clothes?  You would not think about going out without putting clothes on.  In the same way, we shouldn't even consider going outside without putting on kindness.  Atleast that is what Paul suggested to the church in Colossae when he wrote, "Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience," (Colossains 3:12).

So here is a NEW CHALLENGE: As you put on your clothes each morning, think about one way you could show God's kindness to another person that day.  Just one.  Heck, after 12 that's a piece of cake. :)

Please continue to share the challenge and share the stories.  Now it's beginning to feel a lot like CHRISTmas!!!
